Stone Carving Courses
We offer stone carving and letter cutting courses for both the beginner and the improver.
For the Beginner - During the stone carving course you will learn how to draw out and carve a design in relief. To begin with you will learn what types of stone are best for carving and how to use the specialist tools. If you progress well and complete your first piece you will be able to move onto a design of your own. The course will teach you enough to be able to complete a second carving at home.
For the Improver - You are encouraged to bring with you a design, sketch or model of something you would like to carve. If the design is feasible you will be given advice and tutoring on how to go about carving your own design or how it might be adapted to suit the medium of stone.
